As the need in Lebanon grew, Hoda Hajjar decided to transform her family's tradition of giving into direct humanitarian action — closer to people and their reality.

From supporting students and schools to interventions designed for longer-term impact, education has been part of One Life's work. Among these efforts was the installation of a solar-energy system for a school, supporting its learning environment and a wider group of students.

In some homes, temporary assistance was not enough. We helped restore and rehabilitate living spaces, improving conditions so they could become safer and more suitable to live in.

From healthcare support to standing beside elderly people, we have taken part in human journeys that required presence and follow-up, with respect and dignity at the heart of every intervention.

Over time, the question became not only: what does someone need today? But what could help them tomorrow? This led to supporting skills and ideas that could become productive projects and sources of income.
WHAT WE LEARNED
At times, we became involved in cases that required long journeys of treatment, follow-up and support, and learned that some challenges are greater than the capacity of any single private foundation.
That did not make us step back. It made us more thoughtful about where and how we intervene.
We now ask more questions,
study more carefully,
and look for where our resources can create the greatest and most sustainable impact.
A society where every person can live with dignity, in a warm home, within a fair environment, where education is a right, energy is available, and opportunity does not discriminate.
We envision a future where every family has a stable foundation to build on, every child has an opportunity, and every elderly person is met with comfort and care.
